Yesterday I did my first movement project in class. We were given the word evolution, meaning "a process of continuous change from a lower, simpler, or worse to a higher, more complex, or better state."
It took awhile to figure out what to do for this. I started by looking for music. I found a lot of great songs for movement, but I couldn't decide how they related to evolution. I saved them for later though; they could work for the next project (Freedom).
I eventually found "I Can't Handle Change" by Roar. Evolution is growth, but changes are difficult. In this class, I have had to deal with everyone's skill level being far beyond my own. I haven't "grown" as much as them, so that affected me and my willingness to try to.
I decided to just show how my mental and physical selves were influenced. The music saying "nothing I do is every good enough" pretty much portrayed how my brain gave itself a beatdown everytime, while I just tried to breathe and push past it to do what I could to grow.
